Checking for blown fuses should always be the first port of call if you have electrical issues.
The following step by step guide covers removing and refitting the interior fuses from the distributor box.
The steps below should apply to all E90, E91, E92 and E93 vehicles too.

Tools Required
- Fuse puller (stored on the fuse board), or
- Thin nosed pliers

Step 1
Open the glovebox and set aside anything that is stored there, you'll need as much access as you can get. Twist the quarter turn fixings, one either side, to release the fuse access panel.
Step 2
Using the glovebox torch, or one of your own that's a little brighter, familiarise yourself with the fuse board. There is a diagram (P/N: 8 384 529.1 EEF75.U) on the back of the fuse access panel that details each fuse's purpose and the amp value.
Step 3
Locate the red fuse puller, it's in the middle of the fuse board and held in place by two prongs sticking out of the board. To remove it, just pull it towards you.
Step 4
Depending on the size of the fuse you wish to remove, hold the opposite sized end of the fuse removal tool. To remove a fuse, push the tool onto the required fuse then pull it out. This is a little bit fiddly as you can barely see once you've got your hand in there.
Step 5
Refitting is just the reverse of the previous steps, however, I found it easier to replace the fuses by hand, as you can end up pulling the out again if you use the tool.
